It's artichoke season - saw guys preparing outside a restaurant, so had to come back there for dinner!
The dome of the Pantheon - carved concrete made about 2000 years ago -- the Romans made it thinner and lighter higher on the dome. Imagine around 1100 AD looking at this wondering "why can't we build like this 1000 years later?" And in some ways, we still can't.
Here's more of the dome - the "eye" at the top is open for this beam of sunlight to paint the walls and highlight the gods.
